Copenhagen Hospitality College

 

Copenhagen Hospitality College is Northern Europe's largest vocational college within the hotel and restaurant field.

The College has existed for more than 80 years and is situated in Valby in Copenhagen.

The college is known for its strong international ties which have been created through a long-standing cooperation with other international colleges, vocational colleges and employers.

For the vocational programmes, this cooperation leads the way for many of our students to do all or part of their internship abroad.

Students at our academic programme may enrol at selected international colleges and obtain a bachelor's degree in 1-2 years.

  • Party and conference waiter/waitress 
  • Hotel receptionist
  • AP Programme in Service, Hospitality and Tourism Management (2-year programme)
  • International Hospitality Management (bachelor programme)
  • Various management training courses

English Foundation Programme 
If you are an English speaking EU-citizen or if you hold a permanent residence permit or a residence permit in anticipation of permanent stay in Denmark and wish to start a vocational education within food and beverage, you can enroll on the foundation programme offered in English. 

Courses and further education
The college has a large number of courses available for skilled as well as unskilled people and also offers various management courses under the Open Programme (Åben Uddannelse).

Higher education
Copenhagen Hospitality College is part of the Academy of Professional Higher Education and as such we provide the AP Programme in Service, Hospitality and Tourism Management which is a 2-year programme.

After completing this programme you may join the bachelor programme in International Hospitality Management which is a 1 ½ year programme on top of the AP Programme.

When can you start?
We start foundation programmes 4 times per year. Contact the student counsellors (+45 33 86 22 00) and we will send you an application form for the foundation course or you can download it here.

Admission requirements
As a minimum, you must have completed 9 or 10 years of schooling in order to be enrolled on one of the college's vocational programmes.

If you have an educational background from other countries than Denmark, you must be able to speak, understand and write Danish, unless you choose the foundation programme in English, where good English skills are required and some knowledge to the Danish language is preferred.

GVU (Basic Education for Adults)
If you have at least two years' relevant commercial experience and you are at least 25 years old, you can apply for a programme through GVU (Basic education for adults). If you would like to make use of this possibility, you must contact the student counsellors for further information.

Student Grant
If you are 18 years old you are entitled to apply for SU (State Education Grant).
This must be done on-line at www.su.dk. You need to use the form: "Youth education programme". 

Wage during internship 
During the entire main programme you will receive trainee wage from your employer. This is according to the trade union's trainee collective agreement.
